Lorde's Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 single "Yellow Flicker Beat" sounds a little different today (Nov. 11). After the "Team" singer released her own version of the haunting, Katniss Everdeen inspired track and accompanied it with a very Lorde-esque music video, Kanye West has dropped his "reworking" of the single: introducing "Flicker."

Eschewing his rapping prowess for his production roots, West took the creeping, industrial alt-pop song and gave it more ominous tones. The explosions of synth are gone for a more back to basics level of production, recalling heavily West's 2013 album Yeezus.

Instead of screeching noises, ominous Gregorian chants, hollow room noises and even a few total Yeezus screams echo throughout the song, adding an even creepier tone to the Lorde track.

The stripped down production also allows for Lorde's own lyrics and vocals to shine through, particularly making the "But I got my fingers laced together / And I made a little prison / And I'm locking up anyone who's ever laid a finger on me" lyric resonate.
