Over the last few months, Ryan Adams has already released a full-length album and a few seven-inches for his Pax-Am single series, and it looks like he'll be adding a film score to his impressive resume. According to Film Music Reporter, Adams has teamed up with composer Theodore Shapiro to write the original music for an upcoming film titled Danny Collins, which stars Al Pacino, Annette Bening, Jennifer Garner, Bobby Canavale, Josh Peck, and Christopher Plummer.

Danny Collins is the directorial debut of screenwriter Dan Fogelman, whose credits include Cars, Tangled, and Crazy, Stupid, Love. The film tells the story of an aging rock star, played by Pacino, who is inspired to track down his long lost son after coming across letters written to him by John Lennon. The film has already been completed, and is expected to be released at some point in 2015.

Danny Collins won't be the first film that Adams has contributed music to, nor is it the first time that he's collaborated with Theodore Shapiro. The two wrote the song "Stay Alive" for Ben Stiller's 2013 film The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, which was ultimately performed by Swedish singer-songwriter José González. Shapiro's previous film credits include Tropic Thunder, The Devil Wears Prada, Marley & Me, and the recent Bill Murray film St. Vincent.

In other Ryan Adams-related news, the singer announced yesterday the release of a new seven-inch single titled "Do You Laugh When You Lie?," which is set for release on Dec. 9. Adams debuted the song last night in Toronto, which you can check out right here:

Previous releases in Adams' Pax-Am series include "Vampires," "Jacksonville," and the hardcore punk 1984 EP. Adams' most recent studio album Ryan Adams was released back in September.
