Despite the third-day cancelation, Made Event's Electric Zoo has released its official 2014 aftermovie for the sixth edition of the New York City dance music festival, according to a press release. Taking place over Labor Day weekend, the festival played host to disc jockeys like David Guetta, Wolfgang Gartner, Nicky Romero, Armin van Buuren, Zedd, Knife Party, Laidback Luke, Danny Tenaglia, Sasha and many more scheduled to play Sunday, Nov. 23, including Jack U, Skrillex and Diplo's duo; Kaskade; Dash Berlin; and Alesso.
The video is shorter then the long epics that have become the norm for many dance music festivals like Tomorrowland and Ultra Music Festival. It does not help that one-sixth of the festival was lost due to rain, notably with the most camera-friendly parts at night, but the festival went for the short and sweet aftermovie rather than a "sit down, grab your buddies, get the popcorn and watch this 30 minute video" type of aftermovie.
It provides a change of pace with a narrator who provides commentary on the goal of the festival and how it is able to bring all the revelers together through music.
He begins, "The music brings us here. It grooms our curiosity for connection, elevates our disposition. It tears down the walls and elevates our spirit."
The aftermovie continues, showing clips from various sets throughout the weekend and enthralled fan reactions with big production at its peak. He finishes dramatically as the soothing beat of EDX's "Breathin'" slowly fades in the background, "Together we make the beat that goes on."
Electric Zoo, which took place over Labor Day weekend on Randall's Island from Aug. 29 to 31, has experienced issues with its past two Sundays. Two years ago, the final day of the festival was canceled after two festivalgoers overdosed and died, while last year a storm forced the festival to shut down.
According to the website, fans should stay tuned for details about 2015, so make sure you have your eyes open.
