According to Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood, the band is back in the studio recording the follow up to their 2011 artist album, The King Of Limbs. This information was revealed by Greenwood in a recent interview with BBC Radio 1 (Skip to the 1:34:00 mark, or if you so choose, listen to the whole broadcast). Speaking on David Prever's show "Drivetime", Greenwood spoke about his upcoming classical show in his hometown at the Albert Hall in Oxford and going into the studio with Radiohead to work on an album (via Consequence Of Sound).

He is asked about working on an album and he replies almost rushed, "I am late, they have all gone there now," Greenwood chuckles, "We are currently playing and recording. It is fun to see everyone again. It has been a longtime coming. We have been waiting a long time."

The guitarist doesn't know which direction the album will take. Speaking on their approach in the studio, Greenwood explains, "I always feel as when we start up like we still don't know really how to do it, and we don't know quite what to do. 'Looking down avenues' is a very kind way of putting the kind of fumbling that we do, mainly because every time we try and do it like the last time because that worked, it never seems to work. So we talk about different approaches and we're currently trying a bunch out."

The band has been teasing a new album over the past few months, but no concrete word has emerged about when they were recording it. Frontman Thom Yorke and Greenwood have been sending tracks back and forth to each other over the past few months, but getting in the studio together as one group will make the process go that much faster. Now that the album is being recorded, we have a clearer picture as to when The King Of Limbs follow up will arrive.
