Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood Shares 'Inherent Vice' Soundtrack, Paul Thomas Anderson Movie Out [LISTEN]
Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood put together the music for Paul Thomas Anderson's next movie, "Inherent Vice," which is out now. The soundtrack features original Greenwood compositions, an unreleased Radiohead track and a Neil Young tune. It will be released tomorrow, Dec. 16, via Nonesuch Records, "Consequence of Sound" reports. The soundtrack marks the third collaboration between Greenwood and Anderson. The pair teamed up for 2007's "There Will Be Blood" and 2012's "The Master." Check out the tracklist and stream the soundtrack below. "Inherent Vice" stars Joaquin Phoenix, Owen Wilson, Reese Witherspoon, Benicio Del Toro, Josh Brolin and Martin Short. It is based on the 2009 novel by Thomas Pynchon in which a detective looks into the disappearance of a former lover. -
Jonny Greenwood Shares 'Spooks' from 'Inherent Vice' Soundtrack [LISTEN]
Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood has shared a song from the soundtrack to the upcoming Paul Thomas Anderson film "Inherent Vice" titled "Spooks," which you can check out below. The song was written by Radiohead and made its live debut in 2006, but besides Greenwood this new version features no other members of Radiohead. Instead, Supergrass members Gaz Coombes and Dany Goffey appear on the mysterious, noir-inspired track with Joanna Newsom providing spoken word vocals — she also provides the narration for "Inherent Vice." Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood Says The Band Is In Studio Now
According to Radiohead's guitarist Jonny Greenwood, the band is back in the studio recording the follow up to their 2011 artist album, The King Of Limbs. This information was revealed by Greenwood in a recent interview with BBC Radio 1 (Skip to the 1:34:00 mark, or if you so choose, listen to the whole broadcast). Speaking on David Prever's show "Drivetime", Greenwood spoke about his upcoming classical show in his hometown at the Albert Hall in Oxford and going into the studio with Radiohead to work on an album. -
