Since shooting Michael Brown Aug. 9, Ferguson, Missouri, Police Officer Darren Wilson has managed to disappear completely off the grid as he waits to find out whether or not an indictment and formal charges will be coming. His is a case that has led to rioting in the St. Louis suburb, and what started as a violent altercation between Wilson and Brown has morphed into a full civil-rights debate. An interview with Wilson would no doubt equal blockbuster ratings, and we are hearing that he has quietly met with a few possible contenders.

According to The Huffington Post, several journalists — including Anderson Cooper, Don Lemon and Matt Lauer — have talked to Wilson off the record. These meetings are standard procedure because they help the subject — in this case Wilson — figure out who they feel the most comfortable with. Cooper has already confirmed that Wilson has declined his request for an actual on-camera interview. Lemon confirmed that there was a meeting, but has said little else.

As far as Wilson's actual fate is concerned, the grand jury is scheduled to reconvene today to see if they can reach an agreement on whether or not to indict Wilson. A state of emergency has been in place for a week now in Ferguson, with the National Guard already in place just in case the official decision should cause a riot. We have also seen business owners boarding up their storefronts and, as of now, classes in Ferguson are canceled for this entire week.

There has been some fear that by taking such measures in advance it will ultimately encourage unrest and discord. Local lawmakers believe they need to have extra safety measures in place in the hopes of ensuring the safety of the residents in and around St. Louis.

Do you think that a decision will come today? Do you think Wilson already knows his fate and, in meeting with different reporters, he has actually already given an exclusive interview to one of them? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
