After delivering a legendary speech at New York University in 2012, the academic world has been clamoring to have former The Pack member, Brandon McCartney, better known as Lil B back in their midst again. Lil B or The BasedGod, delivered a rousing hour-and-a-half-long speech touching on the current events of the day, his passion for music and his fans, as well as more niche topics like his curse on Kevin Durant.
Lil B stood before a packed lecture hall, shirtless in a leather jacket and sagging jeans, speaking from the heart and occasionally looking at note cards.
Lil B passion for his fans, his humorous raps and love for his craft have made him a cult hero among many in the hip hop world. He preaches a message of positivity and love, speaking from his own experience and reaching the brilliant group of 18-22 year olds in front of him.
"We right now are in a special generation. This is our generation, and this is our family. It's not about violence. It's not about correcting people, but you can correct out of love and positivity and protection."
Speaking with the utmost respect for his audience in the room, Lil B talks about the importance of math and science, noting his experience creating the BasedEmoji app, that was released earlier this year and allows you to send BasedGod cartoon images to your friends (via Spin).
"I want to give a shout out to all the engineers and scientists, swag."

One of the most important topics being discussed on college campuses right now, sexual assault, is an issue that Lil B plans to use his stature to try and address.
"I really feel that the right time will be for me to speak on a national, grand scale about these things, about awareness and ways to protect victims."
