Word to the wise: If someone leaks your album early, don't attempt to murder them. It was a d--k move on their part but the court will rarely give you leniency because your victim is a tool. This was what Jay Z learned when he was convicted for stabbing Lance Rivera under the belief that the latter party had bootlegged Vol. 3...The Life and Times of S. Carter. Knives are a less popular tool for murder in the modern era but that hasn't stopped the musicians listed below.

Bobby Beausoleil

The name Bobby Beausoleil tends to catch more attention thanks to his role in the infamous Manson Family murders versus his musical career. But, like Charles Manson himself, Beausoleil was heavily invested in the music industry before getting put away for life. Few people know that the the guitarist was one of the founding members of The Grass Roots with Arthur Lee, which would find more popularity under the title Love in the few years after he left the group.

Jim Gordon

Jim Gordon is one of the more cultish figures in rock history, thanks to his involvement in almost countless projects and of course the murder of his mother due to less than stable mental conditions. He performed drums for everyone from The Everly Brothers to The Monkees but he found the most fame as the drummer for Eric Clapton's Derek and The Dominoes (and for co-writing the legendary track "Layla"). Toward the end of his career he developed schizophrenia, constantly hearing his mother's voice. The noise understandably distracted him from making music and sleeping, and he opted to end the problems by attacking his mother with a hammer and knife.

Sid Vicious

John "Johnny Rotten" Lydon was the driving force behind the music of The Sex Pistols but the group will always be better known for its bassist Sid Vicious thanks to his notorious murder of girlfriend Nancy Spungen. The musician was clearly in a state (he struggled with drug and alcohol addiction) when the incident happen but most evidence suggests that he stabbed Spungen with a knife just once, which resulted in her death. He was shaken by the incident and ended up dying from a heroin relapse upon being released from prison during 1979.

Varg Vikernes

Perhaps the most notorious music scene in history, the black metal bands that came up in Norway during the early '90s were responsible for arsons, suicides and Lord knows what else when they weren't making questionable music. Varg Vikernes of Burzum fame is best known for murdering Euronymous of fell black metal outfit Mayhem. Although Vikernes claimed self-defense, 23 total stabbings everywhere from the head to the back suggested otherwise. In the most non-metal twist ever, the pair's fight stemmed from Euronymous owing him money from record sales. Vikernes has recently been arraigned for buying rifles and inciting racial hatred.

Young Buck

Young Buck of G-Unit was hanging out with Dr. Dre at the VIBE Awards in 2001 when a fan named Jimmy James Johnson approached the latter rapper/producer for an autograph. Dre said "no," Johnson got pissed and punched the star in the back of the head. A brawl ensued when Johnson tried to escape (which introduces the question...who was on his side during the brawl) and during the course of events, Buck stabbed him. The sides struck a deal to avoid jail time for Buck however.
