Brooks & Dunn recently announced a reunion with a residency in June in Las Vegas. The two split in 2010 on good terms. For the reunion shows, Kix Brooks said that Reba McEntire, who will support the duo, will have to play referee between him and Ronnie Dunn. The idea to reunite came to the trio a few months ago over dinner.

"Kix said, 'I'm for it.' Ronnie said, 'I'm in,' and I said, 'You know I'm in!' They're my brothers," McEntire told Rolling Stone.

"We've been going to dinners and going on vacations together, which is pretty amazing considering Ronnie and I hate each other and don't get along," Brooks joked. "We love hanging out and playing music. We thought, let's do it somewhere besides the campfire."

The trio will play shows at the Colosseum at Caesar's Palace for two years, which is why McEntire is such a pivotal part of the operation.

"We needed a good referee," Brooks said. "[Reba] makes us both behave. It really is a great way for Ronnie and I to get back together. I think it's been a great break for both of us.

"Certainly Ronnie and I always considered ourselves brothers more than friends. We've never been afraid to express our differences of opinions to each other. We just hadn't swept a lot of stuff under the rug."

The pair's last album, Cowboy Town, hit number 13 on the Billboard 200 and four on the Top Country Albums charts. McEntire was featured on the track "Cowgirls Don't Cry."
