News emerged over the past few days that Diddy punched Drake and hospitalized him, but nobody actually knew why the Ciroc brand ambassador and Toronto's finest decided to get into an altercation that ended in fisticuffs and Drake in the hospital.

Now there is a new report out by TMZ that attempts to clarify the situation. According to unnamed sources, the two got into it over Drake's song "0 to 100/The Catch Up" because Diddy says the beat was also given to him. The track "0 to 100/The Catch Up" was nominated for two Grammys this year in Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.

The source details that Boi-1da had given Drake and Diddy the song to use, but Diddy sat on the song while Drake was eager to use the beat and record it, so he did it on his own and apparently this made Puff angry.

Diddy felt like the new hip-hop star had disrespected him and looked to confront Drake outside LIV nightclub in Miami early Monday morning, Dec. 8. According to XXL, eyewitnesses claim that the two got into a heated yelling match in which Diddy shouted, "You will never disrespect me!" This was followed by a punch to Drake's shoulder that stunned him, but exacerbated an old injury and as a result sent him to the hospital.

Outside of fighting with Diddy, Drake was seen elsewhere at Art Basel over the Dec. 3-6 weekend, making appearances at various parties around Miami, including the PPP Muzik Mansion event where he played a surprise DJ set.

This part of the week was a victory lap for the four Grammy nods Drake received from the academy. His shoulder may hurt now, but knowing he got a Grammy nod ahead of Diddy will be better then any painkillers he could possibly take.
