Nipsey Hussle announced the release of his Mailbox Money project and now he's opening up about its concept, his highly anticipated Victory Lap album and other projects for 2015.

During a recent interview with XXL, Nipsey called Mailbox Money the "album before the album" and revealed that he plans to release it some time this month to prepare fans for Victory Lap.

"It's not a mixtape. No jacked beats, all original music," he explained when asked about Mailbox Money. "So I didn't want to devalue it by calling it a mixtape. It's not going to be in Best Buy, etc. When you say an album you think traditional retail, so that's why I said the 'album before the album.' This is still a release that we made hard copies for through our Proud 2 Pay campaign. It's not a mixtape. I just wanted to be clear on the terminology. It's not an album."

He also revealed that he's upping the ante and will sell 100 hard copies of Mailbox Money through his Proud 2 Pay campaign for $1,000 a pop. Last year, the Los Angeles-based rapper sold copies of his Crenshaw mixtape for $100 a copy. He assures those who fork over the big bucks will get their money's worth with the private pay package.

"So if you buy Mailbox Money you'll get a product that I haven't announced yet, access to the secret store that we're getting ready to have the grand opening for and you get to hear Victory Lap exclusively with me in this place that we built. It's an experience. We can't fit more than a 100 people in the store. We just wanted to do something different this time."

While Nipsey Hussle remained pretty mum with the exclusive details on Victory Lap, he did say the album will be released at the top of the year.
