Madeon has released the music video for his new single "You're On" featuring the vocals of UK singer, songwriter and producer Kyan. The video culminates a two-week promotion process that began with the cover art being released and then a teasing 15-second Instagram video. Last Monday he released the full version of "You're On" via Columbia and today the music video has been released.
Directed by Oskar Gullstrand and Carl-Johan Listherby of NAÏVE AB, the video is the first installment in a trilogy that follows a young woman, Asteria, and a young man Icarus, referencing the name of his 2012 single according to a press release. The scene is set in a futuristic city, the pair shares the same curiosity to find a way out of the monotony that exists in their current life and explore the world.
The video is a poignant example of why artists will sign to big labels and their big budgets. Madeon to date has been pretty minimal with his added visuals for songs, besides the video for "The City."
"You're On" is the second single from the Frenchman's 2015 debut artist album Adventure. Madeon previewed the first remix for "You're On" by Alex Metric on BBC Radio One that takes a more stripped back, techy approach to the tune.
