There was enough hype for Kanye West's Yeezus when it debuted earlier this year, but it doesn't look like Yeezy is done with fans yet during 2013. The rapper announced during an extended interview on Los Angeles hip-hop station Power 106 that five unreleased tracks from the Yeezus recording sessions could see the light by the end of the year.

West said that as many as five new songs could be released. It's not exactly a surprising concept for rappers, considering that the average emcee also releases a number of mixtapes throughout the year, containing music they feel won't fit on an LP. West however hasn't released a mixtape since 2008's Can't Tell Me Nothing, so there's reasonable curiosity as to what happens with his leftover tracks. Sure, it's possible that he hits "delete," but the average musician tends to keep such things in storage, hence the rash of extended rereleases seen on the market in recent years. Not that West thinks average.

Rick Rubin, who helped with production on Yeezus, had initially stated in an interview before the album came out that he believed it would feature 16 tracks, meaning there may be at least six songs waiting in the attic. West has already teased a mystery track while on his "Yeezus" tour, opening with concerts with a dramatic processions consisting of masked women and religious overtones. Prior to West's entrance, a recorded hook plays, stating "I am not here right now/I am not home." When the rapper finally takes the stage, he launches into "On Sight," but it's been confirmed that "I Am Not Here" is one of the "missing" tracks off Yeezus.

Keep an ear out between now and December, and for now check out the intro to Yeezy's San Jose show.
