Music Times proudly presents "Monday Mixtape" to you: our new weekly installment of brand new tracks from up and coming artists released within the last week. Today's mixtape includes recently debuted tracks from VISUALS, Snowbird, The Autumn Defense, Emily Jane White and many more to complete a new mixtape of songs to share with whomever you'd like!

This week's mixtape opens with a new track from Brooklyn-based outfit Porches. off of the band's split 7" with LVL UP. Porches.'s contribution from this collaboration comes in the form of the track "Townie Bunt Guts." Packed with crunch, grunge and stoner mentality, this track is a great lo-fi number to start off this week's mixtape!

RIYL: Weezer, Built to Spill, Wolf Parade, Modest Mouse

We opened with a slow-burner (reference to drugs!), so moving on to A Million Billion Dying Suns' newest track "Plush" is a great way to pick this mixtape up right away. Made up of a collection of session and touring musicians from such acts as Lauryn Hill, NO ID, Chaka Khan and Richard Ashcroft, this eclectic group is definitely one to watch in 2013 and 2014.

RIYL: Deerhunter, Animal Collective, Flaming Lips

Let's keep things going with Gang Gang Dance co-founder Brian DeGraw's solo project bEEdEEgEE. "Flowers" comes off of the December 3 album SUM/ONE and maintains the energy from our previous track.

RIYL: MGMT, St. Lucia, Washed Out

Taking a break from the more modern tracks above, the side project of Wilco's John Stirratt and Pat Sansone, The Autumn Defense offers up the next step of our mixtape. "None of this Will Matter" brings us into the relaxed mindset of simple indie-rock. Sings "everything's going to be alright" just before jumping into a solo, we know that this track bridges our mixtape into the next chapter.

RIYL: Pavement, Wilco, Tom Petty

Since we've come to the middle of our mixtape, check out these mellow tunes from Garden City Movement, VISUALS, and Emily Jane White.

Say Lou Lou's "Beloved" is a fluid transition from these soft tracks into the beginning of the ending our mixtape.

RIYL: Frou Frou, Bat For Lashes, A Camp

We slowed down for a bit, but now we're ready to pick things back up with the latest track from Daytona, "Honey." As we all know, mixtapes need to reestablish themselves towards the end of the collection, and "Honey" is a perfect pick-me-up.

RIYL: Animal Collective, Real Estate, Local Natives

This week's final track comes from Snowbird, a band comprised of members of Cocteau Twins and Radiohead. The final song of a good mixtape is the most important, so we decided to use "Porcelain" to serve as our conclusion. We say good-bye this week with a sweet song that brings brings us home, in a way, and lets us feel the coming together of the entire mixtape.

RIYL: Mazzy Star, Strand of Oaks

This mixtape would work great for sharing with an old friend you haven't seen in a while, but have kept up with through other avenues. A pen pal that was a genuine friend at some point but has been separated from you due to other circumstances (college, relocation, etc.). Share these new songs from this week with them!
