"So you find it's a chess game, but instead in this chess the board is made of water that's just flowing and all the chess pieces are smoke. You can make all the moves you want, they will not affect the outcome of the game," Jerry Seinfeld says at the top of the short new Wale track "The Chess Match." Yes, you read that right: Jerry Seinfeld. In the first sampling from the upcoming Wale project Festivus, the legendary comedian steps into the studio with the rapper to kick things off.

"The Chess Match" is short, clocking in at a mere one minute, 18 seconds. But it packs quite the punch. After the extended intro from Seinfeld, Wale pours into a verse about race relations in the United States, using the game of chess as a metaphor.

"In the grand scheme of life, we like pieces on a board / Look inside yours, you're a king or a pawn / I came from a scene where the kids on water got to bring C5 / Get your things, hit the border," Wale raps at the top of the track with contemplative enthusiasm.

"The Chess Match" brings in cool territory for Wale. The beat is made up of grooving, vintage guitars with a steady yet not overbearing drum beat. It's a mature track, showcasing the best of Wale's abilities, all while set to a bit from his maybe mentor Jerry Seinfeld.
