The clock is ticking on Teresa Giudice's freedom. After pleading guilty to various counts of fraud, she was sentenced to 15 months in prison, and her Jan. 5 surrender date is fast approaching, leaving her no choice but to tie up all kinds of loose ends before she leaves for prison in Connecticut. While The Real Housewives of New Jersey star originally claimed that she trusted her husband Joe Giudice to handle their four kids while she is away, that is no longer the case.

According to Radar Online, Teresa has had a difficult time believing she is really headed off to jail, but as time has gone on and Joe's behavior has worsened, she realized her daughters are probably better off elsewhere.

"She knows Joe doesn't want to take care of them, and she doesn't think he's capable. Theresa has become so desperate she's now considering giving her kids to friends!" says the source.

Thinking that her husband cannot handle the kids might be one of the smartest things Teresa has thought of in the last year or so. Remember: In order to try and keep him from being sentenced to prison, Joe's attorney actually requested that the court send him to rehab instead.

In the months since learning that he will spend four years locked up after his wife is released, Joe has continued to drink heavily rather than making sure his family is as stable as possible.

Do you think it is in Teresa's best interest to find friends and family to take care of her girls? Do you think they will be better cared for under the guidance of anyone other than Joe? Who do you think Teresa should give her children to?
