Rex Ryan still has one more game to coach, but that hasn't stopped him from clearing out his office. His 3-12 New York Jets have been one of the NFL's worst teams this season, and the team plans to fire him shortly after this Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins.

The Jets coach reached the AFC Championship in two straight seasons (2009 and 2010), but the team hasn't had a winning record since.

In fact, after a 6-8 start last season, general manager John Idzik was prepared to fire Ryan, and began looking at potentinal replacements. Upon finding out about this, Ryan gave a fiery speech to his team and led them to two straight wins.

The run helped Ryan keep his job for another year, but given the team's current condition, the coach is basically dead in the water. New York reportedly will fire both Ryan and Idzik and have consultant Charlie Casserly help with the hiring process.

From NJ Advanced Media: Ryan has not yet been informed of his fate, a person familiar with his thinking said. But that same person also said Ryan had learned Casserly was contacting other coaching candidates, and that Ryan had already cleared out his office at One Jets Drive.

Asked earlier this week if job security had crossed his mind, Ryan responded: "I won't let it. I think the best thing for me is that I know I have a job to do and that is exactly what I am going to do, and again, I am not worried about it."

The 52-year-old son on NFL coaching legend Buddy Ryan previously worked as the defensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens before taking the Jets job in 2009. He's considered one of the most sought-after head coaching candidates going into next season.
