Frank Ocean has been working on an album since his 2012 breakthrough effort Channel Orange. The singer has been largely absent from the public eye in 2014 as fans eagerly anticipate new album material from Ocean. He released a new, abstract and lo-fi track "Memrise" at the end of November via his tumblr account. It is interesting to see what he is working on with this type of an update.

It is not clear whether or not this collaboration will appear on Frank Ocean's upcoming album, though it does not seem entirely likely. It is good to see Ocean in the studio and to hear that there is new music coming soon. Ocean fired his management and PR team earlier this year and signed to power management group Three Six Zero Group (TSZG) / Roc Nation, which houses artists like deadmau5, Calvin Harris and Kate Nash.

We don't have much more info on what the collaboration will bring to see if these two very distinct styles will mesh well together into something that they can release. Stay tuned for any updates.
