Jimmy Page has been busy, and it hasn't been with anything related to Led Zeppelin. Actually, correction: It does have something to do with Led Zeppelin, just not a reunion or a new box set or anything that Zep fans want to hear about. No, the legendary guitarist has recently taken a shot at remixing hip-hop

As of Friday morning, Page's website had been replaced with an image of the Notorious B.I.G., with a picture of '70s page reflected in his sunglasses. A sound bar at the bottom plays a song titled "Ramblize" on loop, unless stopped by the viewer. The track is, believe it or not, a mashup of the classic Led Zeppelin song "Ramble On" and Biggie's own "Hypnotize." Although the site doesn't openly state that Page himself made the remix, its appearance on his website has led many media outlets to claim that the guitarist was responsible.

Although the project is indeed humorous, it's also a little rough.

The initial idea seems good: replace the hip-hop-funk beat of the original Biggie performance, and replace it with Page's famous "Ramble On" riff. It works, at least during the verses. The bouncing acoustic melody fits well with the handclap rhythm and doesn't distract from the emcee's lyrics. However, Page opts to replace the classic chorus, sung by girl group Total, with Robert Plant's "Ramble" line "Ah, sometimes I grow so tired." The original hook makes a comeback at the 3:00 mark, continuing through to the song's end.

It was, ultimately, a noble effort. Now get Zeppelin back together!
