Welp, someone at Facebook is packing up their office today. Mariah Carey premiered her new single "The Art of Letting Go" on Facebook on Monday (Nov. 11), but last night the diva took back to the social media site to deliver some unfortunate news: the version on Facebook was not the finalized song. It seems as though there was an error in uploading "The Art of Letting Go," and now Carey is quite upset.

"To cut to the chase, a mistake was made by a brand new sound engineer whose only task was to press the space bar and upload the song to Facebook, while my team, and an incredible group of people from Facebook, partied while listening to the properly mixed & mastered version of "The Art of Letting Go" on repeat from my iPod on my home speakers," Carey wrote, before explaining that it took a few days for her to realize the error because she never thought that such a mistake would even happen.

"Clearly, I was focused on answering your questions during the Q&A. There was no reason for me to wonder if the final mix we were listening to in that room together was different than what you were listening to!!!!!," she said.

Instead of removing the old, unfinished version from Facebook, she left both tracks up, allowing fans to notice the differences. Indeed, the fully mastered track does feature the vocals more heavily, with the highs going even higher and the lows going lower.

In the end, both versions offer a sparkling, soulful new sound for Carey.
