The series of events leading up to the unexpected and untimely death of Joan Rivers are quite complicated, mainly because the staff at Yorkville Endoscopy Center have worked really hard to keep things as under wraps as possible. We have gotten the distinct impression that Melissa Rivers' legal team has been slowly but surely piecing things together themselves because very few details have been willingly handed over. The media has been all over this from the beginning because it has always seemed like malpractice was involved. Today we've learned that the anesthesiologist in that procedure room with Joan was a woman named Renuka Reddy Bankulla.

According to a report by Page Six, Bankulla, 47, was the third doctor responsible for Rivers' treatment alongside of then medical director, Lawrence Cohen, and celebrity ear, nose and throat specialist, Gwen Korovin, who is rumored to have taken a selfie with Joan minutes before the comedienne went into cardiac arrest.

It was Bankulla's job to monitor Joan's vital signs such as her heart rate and blood pressure. She's also the doctor that likely gave her the dosage of Propofol that we now know was far too strong for Joan's body size. Propofol slows down breathing and vitals which may have contributed to Rivers' cardiac arrest. Obviously, Bankulla wasn't doing a very good job of any of these things, especially since it has been reported that the legend was crashing for over ten minutes before the doctors in the room even bothered to call 911.

Page Six attempted to get Bankulla to comment but neither she nor her handlers had anything to say to the press, yet.
