It was announced last month that Flying Lotus would join BBC Radio One as a resident in 2015, adding to a cast that includes, Skream, Jon Hopkins, Kaytranada, Solomun and others. He took to the BBC airwaves for the first time on Jan. 15 and put together a vintage FlyLo mix with tracks from all across the music spectrum including some unreleased music from himself, and more from Rae Sremmurd, Electric Light Orchestra, Run The Jewels and Thundercat. He does not waste the opportunity to showcase some new music, including an unreleased Thundercat track and a few from himself like an alternative edit of his tune with Kendrick Lamar "Never Catch Me."

He also chats with jazz legend, Herbie Hancock who was featured on Flying Lotus's album You're Dead with the track "Moment of Hesitation." The pair discuss a number of topics surrounding their creative inspirations and music creations via Pitchfork.

"The human being has infinite potential," Hancock tells FlyLo, "and as an expression of that infinite potential there's always something more that you can explore and create".

Flying Lotus has already been booked for some of the big US festivals this summer including Coachella and Governors Ball, with plenty more to come.

Flying Lotus continues to busy himself, revealing recently that he is working on writing a film. He also helped score the film, within the movie for Entourage.

Listen to the entire episode for the next 30 days on BBC Radio One's website here. The 2-hour show will take place every month, so if you like what you hear then tune back next month for another episode.
