The Sundance Film Festival announced its music lineup this weekend, and the curious assortment of players includes O.A.R., Scott Weiland, violinist Lindsey Stirling, Allen Stone, John Fulbright, Jamestown Revival, and several others (via Billboard).

The performances will take place at the fest, which runs from June 23–30 and showcases some of the world's best independent films.

O.A.R. and Weiland are an interesting headliner combination; while neither artist has made much of a chart impact in the past handful of years, the latter hasn't exactly avoided adding to his ... interesting ... reputation.

Weiland, the former Stone Temple Pilots frontman, has recently dealt with several personal issues, which no doubt shaped his new solo album, Blaster.

The record is his first solo effort since 2008's "Happy" in Galoshes.

"'Happy' in Galoshes was an experimental art record, for the most part," he told Rolling Stone. "Blaster is definitely a band sound: a stripped down, furry sound with a lot of space between the notes. But it's tight and to-the-point while keeping that garage rock vibe to it."

After a couple on-again, off-again STP stints, Weiland appears to be completely done with the group. He was officially dumped in 2013, and his old bandmates ultimately replaced him with Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington.

"His main concern definitely is Linkin Park and, you know, when he's busy with them, it offers Dean and Eric [Kretz, drums] and myself some time to really get some new music together," STP's Robert DeLeo said. "And when he's available, that's when we work, man, and we make the best of that time."
