Metallica's Orion Fest may not have succeeded on a financial level enough to justify future versions, but guitarist Kirk Hammett and his "Kirk von Hammet's Fear FestEvil" will have a second run in San Jose during April. The thrash icon and horror movie enthusiast has announced a lineup for the three-day event, although the characters he's booked for a panel may be even more exciting than the confirmed musicians: Slipknot's Corey Taylor, Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 and Slash will all appear in speaking roles.

The trio of rock musicians all have experience with both horror onstage and on film: Taylor owns a film and production studio alongside Slipknot cohort Shawn Crahan, Living Breathing Films (while fronting a very theatrical metal band), John 5 has scored films for Zombie (and has performed with Marilyn Manson as well, both gore-friendly performers), and Slash owns a production Slasher Films...and, well, he was a skeleton on the cover of Guns N' Roses Appetite for Destruction

No word on whether any of those characters will make appearances in a musical form as well but don't be surprised is all we're saying. The lineup of actual bands performing ain't half bad (although it lacks the headliner status of the panel): Meshuggah, High on Fire and Agnostic Front will perform at the RockBar Theater as part of the event.

Taylor is expected to take part in one of the festival's other events however, according to Loudwire: The opening night will feature a VIP murder mystery at the Winchester Mystery House—an architecturally bizarre mansion built by the heiress of the Winchester Rifle fortune and noted to be one of the most haunted places in the United States—and Taylor has been reported as a star in the night's activity. We'll go ahead and predict he's a red herring.
