One of the most important acts in electronic music, Kraftwerk are the subject of a new documentary by BBC Four, a TV channel operated by the BBC. Titled Kraftwerk: Pop Art, the documentary takes a deeper look into the pioneering German electronic music group's eight-day residency at London's Tate Art Gallery. The residency, or exhibit, titled Kraftwerk -- The Catalogue 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8, was a "chronological exploration of the group's sonic and visual experiments and presents eight classic master works from across their celebrated repertoire with spectacular 3D visualizations and effects," according to the show description.

The eight-consecutive-night show residency was the group's first concert in London in nearly a decade and was eventually reproduced in a larger world tour that includes a stop at the technology-oriented festival Moogfest. The 60-minute documentary will go beyond the show with a blend of new footage and old clips. It will feature some stunning shots of the group performing live at the Tate gallery and new interviews while also digging deeper into the archives for rare video of Kraftwerk playing as a trio, portions of Ralf Hütter's last known filmed interview, live audio from the band's original 1981 Computer World Tour and old archived footage, according to Consequence of Sound.

The documentary was directed by Simon Witter, who previously produced similar projects for other British acts like Queen, The Rolling Stones, Freddy Mercury and others.

Krafkwerk: Pop Art is scheduled to air tomorrow night, Friday, Jan. 30, on BBC Four. Watch the trailer below to see what you are in for and how people reacted to the show.
