This has been a crazy Super Bowl week, with controversial protests from Seattle Seahawks star Marshawn Lynch and plenty of dark clouds still hovering over the New England Patriots' #DeflateGate. Halftime performer Katy Perry did her best to add to the madness during her press conference on Thursday.

When asked who she's picking in the game, Perry didn't have to think about it.

"I love the Seahawks because of [quarterback] Russell Wilson, so I think I'm gonna go for them on Sunday," Perry said (via 247 Sports).

"I am friends with Russell Wilson, and we have been texting just this week," she explained.

Apparently, the Prism singer and international pop star needed some pregame advice.

"I was asking him about his approach during the game," Perry said. "I asked him what do you eat? What fuel do you put in your body to run so fast? Because I want that same fuel, whether it is a protein shake, or a Paleo diet."

The answer was disappointing.

"And he was like Cheeseburger and pizza," Perry said. "I was like, great, just great."

Perry also managed to sneak in jokes about Lynch and #DeflateGate.

"Nothing in my halftime performance will be deflated," she said, according to Seattle PI.

Later, she was asked by a reporter whether she had her eye on any of the football players this weekend.

"I'm just here so I don't get fined," she said with a straight face, mimicking Lynch's response from earlier this week.

The questioner followed up, saying she could introduce Perry to Lynch.

"I'm just here so I don't get fined," Perry repeated, eliciting laughter from the crowd.
