Christina Aguilera has been mostly mum about the follow-up to her 2012 album Lotus, but she shed some light on the project this week.

Speaking with Billboard, the "Say Something" singer and reality TV star said she's been slowly putting the pieces together for a new LP.

"I just have to make sure it's right, and it's genuine and it's heartfelt, and I'm very excited to pour my heart out into this record fully. I've been gathering and writing and coming up with these amazing ideas for different parts of how I was feeling the past year, so I'm really excited to vocalize all of it and make it all come together."

Oh, and by the way, fellow The Voice host Pharrell Williams will be helping her out.

"During my pregnancy, I had a meeting with him and just connected on where I want to take the next album," Aguilera told Extra TV. "And we started talking music, and he has one song in particular that I love."

Aguilera had a big 2014 despite the lack of a new disc. She scored a hit by hopping on Great Big World's "Say Something," and also had a baby, Summer Rain.

While we wait for her new album, there will be an opportunity to watch Aguilera perform live at the NBA All-Star Game in February.

According to a press release, the singer "will take center stage for a New York-themed medley, culminating with introductions of the 2015 NBA All-Stars. During Aguilera's set, the Rockettes will dazzle the crowd with eye-high kicks and precision choreography."
