Erica Campbell of Mary Mary is branching out to start her own solo career. On June 25, she released the first single from her upcoming solo album entitled, 'A Little More Jesus,' on June 25.

The new single is a rhythmic spiritual tune accompanied by interesting background sounds including harmonica, organ, percussion and blues guitar stylings.

'A Little More Jesus' will appear on Erica's upcoming album, which will be produced by her husband and musical collaborator, Warryn Campbell. "The Erica Campbell project is long overdue," he told elev8.com. "She has shined so brightly with Mary Mary over the last 10 years and now we get to hear her in a way that she has never been heard before ... be prepared to take the amazing journey with her, I promise you'll enjoy the ride."

The Erica and Tina Campbell performing duo, Mary Mary, has recently been put on hold. However, the sisters have still worked together to co-write a number of songs for the upcoming solo album. "I will say this, we are not breaking up," Erica said in an interview with Essence. "But we're taking a break. I'm going to do some solo music. Tina's going to vacation and travel the world."

They have decided to take a break so that they can reconnect with God in a way that gives their music renewed meaning. "We're singing about Christ, we're singing about God," Erica said, according to Essence. "I can't sing about God and I'm not taking the time to talk to God."

Despite their 'break,' Tina seems to be very supportive of Erica in her new project. Today, July 3, Erica & Tina (@therealmarymary) tweeted, "Purchase @ImEricaCampbell's new single #ALittleMoreJesus- #iTunes https://ow.ly/mno9X  | #Amazon https://ow.ly/mnofQ "

In addition, the 'Mary Mary' sisters are planning on touring throughout July and August, appearing in locations in Australia as well as the United States.

This is not Erica Campbell's first time appearing on a single, however, it is the first her first time leading one and going solo on an album. In 2011, she also released a song entitled, 'It Is Well,' alongside Committed. She has also appeared on the album, 'Today's Gospel- The 16 Great Series,' alongside her husband and sister in 2010 performing a song entitled, 'I Worship You.' Campbell also was featured on the album, 'One Voice,' alongside Lou Fellingham and Jason Bailey performing a song entitled, 'Angels.'
