Everyone from Daft Punk to Lady Gaga has been seeking out Nile Rodgers for work on their new albums so it only makes sense that the guitarist would look to release new music with his primary act Chic as well. The band, most popular during the disco era, hasn't released an album since 1992's Chic-Ism (from SPIN).

The bad had formally broken up during the '80s following the fallout from the disco collapse but had gotten back together on occasion, usually for live performances and the occasional album. Rodgers never faded out from the music industry however, achieving acclaim as a producer during the '90s. His popularity saw a newfound resurgence during 2013 however as Daft Punk and its lead single from Random Access Memories, "Get Lucky," tore up the charts and was in regular rotation on MTV. Rogers joined the Robots and Pharrell Williams to play guitar in the video and made himself recognizable.

That album as well as other releases from bands such as Broken Bells have made the disco sound, excuse us, chic again. The band—Rodgers and whomever is around and up for it we suppose—has signed with Warner Brothers Records, according to Pitchfork.

"Nile has never stopped moving forward, so I am thrilled to welcome him into the WBR family as he begins a dynamic new chapter of his extraordinary career," said Cameron Strang, the CEO at Warmer Brothers.

No new music yet but Rodgers has suggested that a new single will be revealed during March, and the full album will drop during June.

Going along with the revival of the Chic sound, the Grammy Hall of Fame has inducted the band's biggest hit, "Le Freak," into its hallowed halls.
