After some time off due to holiday shopping and Thanksgiving, we’re all ready to get back to making these mixtapes. Since we’re getting closer to Christmas, we should expect to include some holiday-themed numbers from our favorite new artists this week. Today's mixtape includes recently debuted tracks from Goodnight Lights, Dog Bite, Caveman, and many more to complete a new mixtape of songs to share with whomever you'd like!

We’re starting this new mixtape off right: with Philadelphia rockers Goodnight Lights. The band’s latest track, “Convinced,” is off of the forthcoming 2104 album. We get a great taste of what’s to come in the new year with “Convinced” and it definitely opens listeners up for wanting much more!

RIYL: Smashing Pumpkins and Dinosaur Jr.

Let’s keep this mix rolling with a new track from Conveyor. With “Mammal Food,” we’re shown that this band mostly known for laid-back, folk/pop tunes can get a little messy with the new sound it’s going for. Check out this new song off of the band’s upcoming 7-inch via Gold Robot Records.

RIYL: Yuck, The Kinks, The Zombies

We’re going to get a little pop-centric with the next two tracks. First up we have Tensnake’s “Love Sublime,” featuring Nile Rogers and right after we have Young the Giant’s “Crystallized.” Both of these new tracks are definitely pleasing to the ear with more production involved.

The middle of our mixtapes is usually a showcase for the slower tunes, but since we have these previous pop songs we’ll keep the slow part brief. This week we have new songs from Caveman and Claire Maguire, both of which help us take a step back from the noise and the beat in order to really appreciate the other side of music.

To help get us out of the slow middle of this compilation, we'll use Monday Mixtape favorites Dog Bite. The chillwave group builds us into our closing numbers with the new song "Royals." No, this isn't a cover. It's much better.

RIYL: Washed Out, Taken By Trees

Should we get a little weird and funky? I think so, too. Here is “Savage” by Ben Khan.

RIYL: Peter Gabriel, James Blake, and funky stuff!

You knew there would be a Christmas song on this mixtape. Here’s Summer Camp’s cover of Wham!’s “Last Christmas.” It is an adorably great interpretation!

RIYL: Camera Obscura, She & Him, Saturday Looks Good to Me

Our final track comes from London crooner Sam Smith. His latest track, “Money on My Mind,” is the second track off of his forthcoming debut album, due out next year, and it is incredibly enjoyable. Though Smith is a noted collaborator with Nile Rogers and Disclosure, his newest song sets him apart as a solo artist ready to make it big.

RIYL: James Blake, Disclosure

This mixtape is a perfect compilation for holiday shopping with the upbeat tracks allowing motivation and the slower songs keeping the shopper sane and grounded.
