Amid the noise of the holidays and new music releases, there's not much that gets us to stop and listen. Sara Bareilles' recent performance of "Brave" in Orlando, Florida got the world listening -- and watching. Bareilles performed her hit song off her latest album, The Blessed Unrest with pediatric cancer patient Joshua Chambers at the House of Blues.

It may seem like a staged performance at first glance, but this wonderful act of warmth and music was spur of the moment. Bareilles and Joshua met for the first time that night at a meet-and-greet. That was when he asked if he could sing with her, Joshua's mother Mina told the Huffington Post.

Before he hopped onstage, Barielles addressed the audience: "There's a very, very special brand new friend of mine who's come to the show and I want to introduce him to you. You guys are just going to fall in love with him, the way I did," she said.

Once he got up there, Barielles continued with, "Joshua has had some health issues lately and Joshua is being the bravest of brave." Joshua then gave the audience an enthusiastic, "Hi everyone!" and asked to wear her hat, to accompany his "Be Brave" t-shirt.

They do some lines of the chorus which Joshua takes over at the end. She later tweeted the above picture of the two, and had another tweet:

Joshua's mother Mina told HuffPost: "That song was always about him in his eyes...and in mine." The song has certainly inspired people across all walks of life since its release this spring. Watch the video of the duet below:
