When Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie first confirmed their split in January of 2014 there seemed to be a lot of hope that they would reconcile. Even while technically uncoupled, these two spent more time together than many married couples do. By the time the holidays rolled around it looked like they had patched things up for real — but that's most definitely not the case now. Instead Duff went ahead and filed divorce papers in L.A. yesterday, and the timing was no coincidence.
On Thursday a story appeared in The Daily Mail documenting Comrie's recent drunken night at Mastro's steakhouse in Beverly Hills. "I work there and I have to say he's a really nice guy, actually. He tips well and is super polite and kind. He was just drunk. But then things got worse," said their source. "I watched him as he blatantly and repeatedly hit on his waitress. I'm sure she was extremely embarrassed because other customers and staff saw this. She handled it well, remaining kind and professional. He then asked a nice woman at the bar, 'OK. How much? How much do you want? I have as much as you need. How much for sex? Name your price. How much do you want to have sex with me?'"
Apparently, enough of this story rang true to motivate Duff to officially end her marriage. It's sad because several months ago she had said that she hoped that their marriage could work and that if she didn't see any hope she would have already filed for divorce. Obviously, that hope is all but over now. The couple shares an almost three-year-old son named Luca and Duff has already requested primary physical custody of the boy. Sources close to the couple claim that she is concerned that Comrie's partying might affect the way that he parents their son.
