Tyga has been making headlines recently because of his rumored relationship with Kylie Jenner and his beef with Drake. Following his Breakfast Club interview last week, where he claimed he and Jenner were just friends, Kanye West let it slip in his own interview that the two were "in love." Now Tyga is speaking about he situation again, this time with his buddy Chris Brown on deck. In support of their joint album and tour, the two came on Hot 97 to talk about a variety of topics, including Tyga's relationship with Jenner, Brown's relationship with Karrueche Tran, both of their relationships with Drake, Amber Rose drama, Kanye West drama, an upcoming movie, and more. Here's some of what they had to say [with a bit of Hennessy apparently fueling the conversation]:
Tyga on leaving Cash Money:
"I'm leaving. I'm my own man. But at the end of the day I got the utmost respect for [Lil'] Wayne. I just think the business just wasn't right, and I didn't see my career being able to get to the next level with the people around."
Chris Brown on the difficulties of dating Karrueche Tran:
"The hardest part, honestly, is still wanting to have... is trying to keep a monogamous relationship but still be the 25-year-old sex symbol. That's the only hardest part. At the end of the day, all my music appeals to all my people and audiences. But you go to shows... you might walk past Trey [Songz] room or somebody room and you might see about six or seven of them thangs in there. You just like, 'Dang, I just want to slide in there and just have a couple drinks real quick, and I'll tell my girl about it later.' And it's kind of hard.
"But you know what I do? I just bring them all to my room. I'd rather [Karrueche] see it than her hear about it or think of something else. I'd rather her see me in a room full of beautiful women, and I can blame that all on my cousins. ...But I'm really getting my looks in.
"I don't miss [that single life] because I love my girl. At the end of that day, I love my woman. In the same breath, I like to have fun. And she know I like turnin' up. Even if it's not a sexual encounter with females, I just like being around females.
"I think with this relationship, it's just different, man. I think different time periods make you mature a lot faster. I'm 25. I can't be the 19-20 year-old Chris that everybody can put up with my bull all the time. It kind of gets old after a while, the same routine. They kinda get hip to your games, your lies, and it don't work no more. They ain't going for it, they get smart."
Chris Brown on Drake beef:
"Yo, we ain't getting no check from talking about dude. We giving him all this [publicity]. At the end of the day, I look at it like this: I can't keep making these motherf**kers famous. I'm responsible for a lot of reviving of careers, and I think when I keep talking about somebody -- even right now, I just making him hot right now 'cause I'm just talking about him."
Tyga on Kanye West producing his upcoming album:
"It's a dope album. He just told me to come...this is probably like a year and a half ago...he'd just told me to come by the studio. And I would just go everyday 'cause he was working on his album at the same time. He was just like, 'Yo I'll help you out with your album. I know you're signed over there.' But whatever, I don't think about paperwork. It's like if you mess with somebody you mess with them. You just want to like push the brand and push the culture."
Tyga on his Instagram post about Kylie Jenner:
"I speak what I feel in my heart. And if I want to express that, I'm going to express that at that time. If I want to express that later in life, I'll do that later. I just feel like that's nobody's business. If I love her, and I love her as a person, that's me. Ain't nobody else gotta deal with that or worry about that."
Chris Brown On Amber Rose twerking on him:
"With this situation, as a man, it's friendly. I know that wouldn't go anywhere further than that. As a man, I'd be stupid as hell. What dude you know ain't going get on that when she twerking? What? That's like everybody thirsty and got they THOT ass looking at the Instagram. She shaking it in the water. She shaking it with Wiz's music. And everybody sittin' there like 'Oh my damn.' So I'ma say no?"
