Big Sean dropped his third studio album Dark Sky Paradise today, and along with it he has shared a video for the effort's opening track "Dark Sky (Skyscrapers)." The song sees Sean on a number of different flows as he talks about his come up, breaks ups, his father's advice, and being on top. The video clip follows Sean as he walks through Detroit at night then wanders around a different rooms of a warehouse.
"Imagine stuck in the D and you tryna find a way out," he raps. "And yea, your music been bumping and you just waiting to break out / And I've been waiting all goddamn year, all year / I can tell that it's near, but near ain't here / Man, them bills is here right now / I guess you shine brightest when the lights down, like now / And they say it happened for me overnight, sh*t, yeah I guess / I guess it took ten years for me to be an overnight success."
This song echoes comments that Sean made this morning on The Breakfast Club.
"I feel like I've seen a progression in myself as an artist and as a rapper, and I can see in myself that I've been getting better," he told them. "I remember when I was sitting down with 'Ye in the studio, he was just like, 'This is clearly your best work. You're clearly getting better.' And he's was like, 'That just goes to show you still at the beginning of your career and ...that's tight to see.' ... I'm going for it. And if you ain't going for it, man, then like what the f**k you doing then? That's how I feel. I'm going for it. I want it."
