Jas Prince is surprised if you're surprised that Birdman and Cash Money Records are under fire from a bevy of lawsuits nowadays. After all, Prince first brought lawsuit alleging shady business practices from the hip-hop label during 2012. Jas helped sign Drake to his contract with Young Money (under the Cash Money label) and claimed years ago that Birdman and company refused to make details of how much they earned from Drake public, and that Prince hadn't been paid accordingly (from HipHopDX).

The issue came to a head on February 13 when Jas's father—Rap-a-Lot Records CEO and Houston hip-hop magnate James "J. Prince" Prince—released a diss track aimed at Birdman and Cash Money titled "Courtesy Call" on behalf of his son (he also aired out against Lil Wayne, Suge Knight, and attorney Ron Sweeney).

A monetary total that Jas is seeking wasn't revealed precisely, but he did mention it was "more than $2 million," according to TMZ. Original reports from the lawsuit suggest that Jas made $2 million from the Drake find but was promised a much higher cut from the estimated $40 million he's made for the label.

No doubt his legal issues with Cash Money are getting more attention now that legal issues with Cash Money are the hottest thing in hip-hop. Earlier this week Music Times reported that former Hot Boys member Turk was suing the label for unpaid royalties, to the tune of $1.3 million. Lil Wayne is suing for far more, $51 million, and aiming to secure his release from the label, while probably taking Young Money cohorts Drake and Nicki Minaj with him. Tyga demonstrates the desperation of the situation at Cash Money, as he expressed willingness to buy out his own contract just to get off of the boat.
