Jazmine Sullivan used her difficult heartbreak to create her album Reality Show and sold out NYC's Irving Plaza for her performance yesterday, March 11.

The 27-year-old singer spoke with Music Times in January to discuss her third studio album Reality Show after her three-year hiatus. She opened up about difficult times with past relationships and what led her to almost start using drugs.

"The most important relationship you can have is with yourself, "she revealed to Music Times. "For a long time I wasn't really concerned about the relationship with myself."

Irving Plaza was a part of her current Reality Show tour. According to Billboard, her hour-long set included singles from her 2008 Fearless album as well as a cover of The Fugees's version of "Killing Me Softly."

"When I was gone, I was working on this album," she told the crowd at Irving Plaza, according to Billboard. "This album is my baby. I spent two years working on it, and I finally put it out. It was a real personal project for me and I took some time off and I didn't know if you guys were still going to be here, and I'm so happy you're showing love for me. My mad appreciation."

Her performance included a live band and two backup singers. Songs "Bust Your Windows," "Lions, Tigers & Bears," "Dumb" and "Holding You Down (Goin' in Circles)" were included in the set.

Midway through she told the crowd, "I was a really stupid girl," according to Billboard. "But we've all been a stupid girl, stupid boy. Because you can't be smart unless you're stupid first."

This past Tuesday, March 10, Sullivan also sold out a show in her hometown of Philadelphia at the Theatre of Living Arts. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the songstress laughed as she commented, "There's a lot of y'all!"
