Singer Jazmine Sullivan is back with her third studio album Reality Show after a three year hiatus in which the "Need You Bad" singer says an abusive relationship isolated her from her passion.

The 27-year-old celebrated her comeback with an intimate listening party at Milk Boy Studios in Philadelphia on Thursday night, where the vocalist gave friends, family, music execs, and fans the rundown of her album in a brief chat.

Dressed in a long-sleeved wrap dress with a plunging neckline, the Philadelphia native greeted fans and thanked them for their support on the dimly lit stage with a backdrop of her album cover behind her, "Thank you all for coming I'm excited it been a long time since I had an album out. You guys know I took a break."

The "In Love With Another Man" singer revealed in November that she was in an abusive relationship to blogger Necole Bitchie: "To be honest, I'll say this because I don't say it a lot, but I was in a really bad relationship and it became abusive." She said. "Physically abusive, emotionally abusive, everything. It was really bad."

The starlet told the crowd that she didn't want to dwell on the turbulent relationship on her new album, however says her single, "Forever Don't Last" was the only single on the album where she let loose about her ex.

Although, Sullivan tends to win fans over with her soulful ballads and lets men know that she would "Bust The Windows" out of their cars, this album she flips the script and lets the women know about their vain behavior on her new track, "Mascara."

The single, which has become Sullivan's favorite, was inspired by the self-absorbed selfie-takers that seemed to have the same type of lifestyle on Instagram. "They had these perfect bodies and these perfect lives, but it kind of started getting redundant after a while. Every girl's lifestyle started to look exactly the same," she said. "I was like 'wow,' and a part of me admired it and a part of me was jealous too. 'Wow all they have to do is look beautiful to get this lifestyle.' That's crazy to me."

Although Jazmine arrived on the music scene in 2008 with her first album Fearless, she told the crowd that she experienced all types emotions and fears before considering a third album.

"I have all the fears going into this album," she laughed. "Every fear you could think of I have had and still have some of them. Before I even got to the point of making an album coming back was so hard and it was so trying and testing for me."

She told the intimate crowd, "My mom would tell you, I was scared to do shows. I was actually scared to do live shows and that's what I've been doing all my life. Fear is crazy. Fear is stifling and it's crazy," she continued. "I was very fearful to do a lot of things, but I'm pushing through it."
