Deadmau5 has officially unveiled his long-requested demo "Drop The Poptart" in the form of a 9-minute edit of his collaboration "Stay" with new mau5trap signee, Colleen D'Agostino. The edit is a sort of bonus track on D'Agostino's 7-track Collide EP, which is out now.

The edit reminds listeners of the soft and mellow progressive sound that deadmau5, real name Joel Zimmerman, made his own in the mid to late 2000s. The stretched out version keeps the vocal and adds it to new places to fill out the track, while adding his own longer instrumental that sounds more complete then the initial track shared with fans several years ago. The original has the feel of a D'Agastino featuring deadmau5 track and this flips the script on that notion with the extra production. Stream the edit below.

Deadmau5 is known for his longer tracks like "Strobe," which he made even longer for the final show at Toronto venue, Guvernment at the end of January, stretching the single out to 20 minutes.

This edit and the original are much different from the while(1<2), record "Seeya" where the pair collaborated for the first time.

You can purchase the EP on Beatport, iTunes or stream it on Spotify.

In addition to the new collaboration, Zimmerman and D'Agostino performed live "Seeya" at the Juno Awards last night. Deadmau5 was nominated for Artist of The Year and Electronic Album Of The Year, losing out on both occasions to The Weeknd and Caribou respectively. Though D'Agostino seemed nervous to start, she finished her performance with power as Zimmerman kept the beat going from a platform suspended high over the stage in his signature mau5 helmet.
