It's been a long, winding country road for Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale. After initially getting signed to Disney's Hollywood Records in June 2012, the 24-year-old actress/singer has finally released her debut single. "You Sound Good To Me" dropped online today (Jan. 7).

Though best known for her dramatic acting chops on the teen soap Pretty Little Liars, Hale is seeded deeply in music, having previously recorded music for the 2011 movie A Cinderella Story: Once Upon A Song. Differing greatly from that sugary pop release, Hale returned to her roots with a country-twinged track.

"It's what I grew up listening to. It's majority of what I listen to now. It felt genuine and felt like home," Hale said about her country debut last night (Jan. 6) in a Twitter chat. And despite totally cookie cutter vocals, her love for the music shines through.

Opening with a roll of the drums and plenty of fiddles, "You Sound Good To Me" is surprisingly less poppy and more pure modern country. Of course, Hale and the Hollywood Records producers included all the hooks to make this track both radio friendly and accessible to a wider audience, but in the end, this is a rip-roaring country party song.

As one could gather from the title, "You Sound Good To Me" is a standard country love song. Name checking old songs on the radio, crackling fires and rushing rivers in the chorus' lyrics, Hale likens her dream cowboy to these down home Southern summer comforts, creating feel-good vibes will be irresistible to younger country audiences.
