Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard have done plenty of work together in the past and now the pair of iconic country performers will team up for a fourth studio album, titled Django & Jimmie, named after guitarist Django Reinhardt and country idol Jimmie Rodgers. Nelson revealed the first single would be titled "Gone to Pot" during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live last week.

The talk show host needled Nelson about what the song was about, perhaps suspecting it was a reference to the songwriter's renowned drug-of-choice. Nelson sang the hook on the spot:

"It's all going to pot / Whether we like it or not / As far as I can tell / The world's gone to hell / And we're sure gonna miss it a lot / All of the whiskey in Lynchburg, Tenn. / Just couldn't hit the spot / I've got $100 bill / You can keep them pills, friend / 'Cause it's all going to pot," he sang.

Of course, even if the single itself doesn't directly scream "marijuana," it will become available for download on April 20. Clever. No release date has been announced for the album itself.

Nelson and Haggard have released four albums together over the last 32 years, according to The Boot. The pair debuted together with Pancho & Lefty, a title that references a song written by Townes Van Zandt...not another pair of music icons (although the new record undoubtedly references that 1983 album). The pair would release Seashores of Old Mexico during 1987 and then team up with Ray Price for Last of The Breed during 2007.

Several of Nelson's recent releases have been collaborations: Last year's December Day featured his sister Bobbie Nelson accompanying on piano for "jam-style" recordings, while To All The Girls showcased duets with a number of female costars.

This will be Haggard's first album since 2011's Working in Tennessee.
