On the heels of the announcement that his estate would release unheard music, many fans were left wondering when to expect John Singleton's Tupac biopic. The director recently spoke on the film's status and hinted at a sequel to Baby Boy with Empire star Taraji P. Henson and Tyrese.

When asked if he was still working on the biopic, Singleton revealed that things were currently on hold.

"Well, we're putting it on hold for right now," he said. "I'm putting my involvement on hold right now because we're trying to figure out some things. I got a script and I got the blessings from his family. We'll see. I'm putting it on hold until it's right. We've got to get it right."

John Singleton directed the 1993 film Poetic Justice, which starred Tupac alongside Janet Jackson.

The filmmaker also admitted to feeling intimidated bringing Pac's life to the big screen.

"It's a very intimidating because, like I said, you just want to get it right," Singleton explained. "I think the picture is not going to be good unless it's offensive to some people. So, whenever you make a movie, you always have different elements that people have their say about. But when I'm making my movies, John Singleton movies, it's really just my voice."

He described the forthcoming flick as "something that potentially adorns Pac's legacy." Singleton also opened up about other projects he's been working on, including a possible sequel to his 2001 blockbuster Baby Boy, which starred Taraji P. Henson and Tyrese. Snoop Dogg also had a role in the movie.

"I have a script of a movie that I want to do. It's kind of an allude to Baby Boy but we have to figure it out. Taraji has an interesting schedule with Empire and Tyrese has a lot of stuff going on, and I do, but we're going to put it together. The audience just really wants to see those two back together."
