Case, the R&B singer known for popular hits like the 1996 "Touch me, Tease Me," talks his new LP, Heaven's Door, and what it was like to work with Beyoncé on the video for his 1999 hit, "Happily Ever After."

In an exclusive interview with Music Times in March, Case discussed a recent performance at the Resorts World Casino in Queens and the pride he felt to see his fans rock out to his old hits from the late 1990s.

"It's a blessing," he told Music Times. "This is why I make music. Because when I was coming into the music business, my whole point was to make music that in 20 years people would still want to listen to. And it's been what, 19 years? And they still singing, so it's a blessing,"

Case's video for "Happily Ever After" featured a teenage Queen Bey as his love interest. In an interview with Vibe, Case shared what it was like to work with Beyoncé and why the pair shared a hug at the end of the video instead of a kiss.

"That part was supposed to be a kiss but Mathew [ Knowles, Beyoncé's father and manger at the time] was like, 'No, she's 17,'" Case claimed. "We had fun, 'cause I think Kelly [Rowland] and Solange came, too. It was like a three-day shoot and we would just hang out in the trailers and just talk."

As far as his inspiration, Case explained that he draws from real life experiences to write a song--whether it's his personal experience or an experience of someone close to him.

He explained, "I just try to draw from real life and put some substance into the music, as supposed to singing about popping bottles all the time or the strip club because most of people's life happens outside of the club. Those are things that you need to address and sing about."

Heaven's Door is available on iTunes for purchase.
