Google has joined forces with Abbey Road Studios in order to produce an in-depth tour of the legendary London studios--a place where magic happens. Countless Beatles albums, Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon and Radiohead's The Bends are all musical outcomes of the eminent recording studio.

The multimedia-guided tour, Inside Abbey Road, will take viewers through the studios by pairing Google Maps technology with interactive exhibits and YouTube videos. Giles Martin, son of "the fitfth" Beatle, George Martin, will guide the tour, reports Entertainment Weekly.

"Abbey Road Studios has been a hive of creativity and source of world-class recordings for more than 80 years," said Giles Martin, reports Rolling Stone. "The artists using the studios have sold countless millions of records and have helped create popular culture as we know it today. It's an inspirational place and an honour for me to work there today. This collaboration with Google gives the outside world a great insight into the everyday workings of the studio and allows anyone to glimpse the magic that goes on inside the world's most famous recording studio."

While embarking on the virtual tour, visitors will explore the stories beneath the walls in the studios, taking a journey through the "mirror room," the drummers domain and the three main studio rooms. Studio One, Two and Three are equipped with video and audio clips from music recorded in each room. Studio Two allows tour-goers to watch the recording of Oasis' Dig Out Your Soul, while Studio Three presents a duet between Amy Winehouse and Tony Bennett in the same studio Dark Side of the Moon was crafted.

"We're always looking at how we can use technology to bring people closer to cultural icons and institutions around the world," said Tom Seymour, the project lead from Google's Creative Lab, reports Rolling Stone. "With Inside Abbey Road, we wanted to open the doors to the iconic music studio for anyone in the world to step inside and experience the stories, the sounds, the people and the equipment that make Abbey Road Studios what it is today."
