NOMINEES:

"I Drive Your Truck" - Lee Brice
"I Want Crazy" - Hunter Hayes
"Mama's Broken Heart" - Miranda Lambert
"Wagon Wheel" - Darius Rucker
"Mine Would Be You" - Blake Shelton

WHO SHOULD WIN: "I Drive Your Truck" - Lee Brice

This year's Country Solo Performance nominees are a big old mixed bag. There's Miranda Lambert's sassy "Mama's Broken Heart," Darius Rucker's take on the classic "Wagon Wheel," Hunter Hayes' light and fun "I Want Crazy," Blake Shelton's love ballad "Mine Would Be You" and above all else, there's Lee Brice's powerful, heartbreaking "I Drive Your Truck." While each one of the nominees is worthy of a Grammy, Brice's song soars about the other.

Best Country Solo Performance is given solely to the performer for his or her take on the track, and Brice sings "I Drive Your Truck" like his life depends on it. Full of heart, and meaningful lyrics, the 33-year-old country star blasts through each and every note.

His soaring crescendos give this track a particular punch that goes right for the feels. For the 2012/2013 music season, there was simply no other country song that gave such an emotional tone with such a strong effort.

WHO WILL WIN: "I Drive Your Truck" - Lee Brice

The Grammys love to give awards to power ballads and big vocal performances, and for country this year, there was simply none stronger than "I Drive Your Truck." Brice's bombastic performance blows away anything from Hayes, Lambert or Rucker and since Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift aren't nominated this year, other artists actually have a chance.

There's also some precedence there. Brice took home the Song of the Year award at the 2013 CMA Awards, showing the song definitely has powerful award potential.

If Brice doesn't take home the golden gramophone, the award could very well go to Blake Shelton. Though celebrated in his genre, Shelton has yet to take home a Grammy, and the touching "Mine Would Be You" features softer vocals than Brice's "I Drive Your Truck," but still manages to showcase some intense powerhouse vocals.
