Vic Mensa recently stopped by Los Angeles' Power 106 and dropped a freestyle over Future's "F**k Up Some Commas" instrumental following his Roc Nation signing.

While visiting the station, the 21-year-old Chicago rhymer discussed his new deal and spit some bars that prove why he's worthy of this spotlight.

"Most of y'all done heard the news/Vic went rogue and signed with Hov," he rapped, bragged on his latest accomplishment.

Mensa says he was attracted to Roc Nation because of the company's innovation. He revealed that he has always looked up to Jay Z as an artist and a visionary in the music industry.

Roc Nation exec, Lenny S., referred to the deal as "1 of my most proud signings!"

During an interview with Power 106's Justin Credible, Mensa also revealed that he's working on a new project entitled Traffic.

"I'm working on a new project called Traffic that's coming soon. It's like stories of my life — a lot of my most personal moments, most vulnerable moments. And I'm really excited for the people to hear the music. There's vibes like 'U Mad,' a lot more introspective sh*t ... just a lot of textures."

Vic Mensa has not released a full-length album since his independently released 2010 effort, Straight Up. He released a well-received mixtape, INNANETAPE, in 2013.

Among Mensa's new releases is the Kanye West-assisted track "U Mad," which caused quite a stir once it hit the Internet.

Mensa is also featured on West's So Help Me God track "Wolves" alongside Sia. He helped perform the song at New York Fashion Week and on SNL.
