When Suge Knight first heard that his bail was set at $25 million, he folded over in his seat and passed out. That number has since been reduced to $10 million, and Knight can breathe a little easier now that Floyd Mayweather has reportedly agreed to put up the bond. Win or lose this weekend in the Fight of the Century against rival Manny Pacquiao, Mayweather is expected to pocket almost $180 million, so he should have plenty to spare for his close friend, the Daily News reports.

[UPDATE: TMZ reports that Mayweather's team wants to refute media reports that the boxer will pay Knight's bail, and that the two haven't spoken in several years, despite their past friendship.]

Following Knight's latest court appearance, where he pled not guilty to murder and all other charges in the fatal hit-and-run incident that took place earlier this year, his attorney revealed that Mayweather agreed to post his client's bail, which his team was unable to reduce any further than $10 million.

If Mayweather does pull through, Knight could be released on bail as early as next week while he awaits his jury trial, which has been set for July 7.

Knight is currently be tried for the January 20 incident in which he hit three men with his vehicle on the set of the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton after one man, who is now a key witness, incited a brawl and traded punches with Knight through his window, which resulted in Knight put his truck in reverse, knocking the men on to the ground and pulling forward to run them over. One man, Terry Carter, was killed.

This case is ongoing. We will update you as more information becomes available.

Meanwhile, Mayweather is prepping for the big fight, which is set to go down Saturday, May 2, in Las Vegas. It is expected to be the highest-grossing fight in the history of the sport and will be televised on PPV.
