Following its freshman and sophomore albums Innerspeaker and Lonerism, Australian psychedelic rock band Tame Impala will shortly see the release of its third studip LP, Currents. Talking to fans through a Reddit "Ask Me Anything," front man Kevin Parker divulged detailed stories as well as the third track off of Currents.
One fan in particular asked what kind of questions Parker prefers to be asked, to which he replied: "I'm waiting for someone to ask me if they can hear a new song...!" The Redditors wasted no time probing the singer and indulging in the latest track "Disciples," released following "Let it Happen" and "Cause I'm a Man."
Parker's Reddit AMA touched upon his admiration for Kanye West's ability to take creative control without reluctance, notes Pitchfork. "Second guessing and hesitation and doubt are such inhibitors for artists, especially these days. I can't help but think that Kanye has found the antidote"
Details of Tame Impala's wild interaction with Mac Demarco and a hot tub was uncovered as Parker told fans: "Mac is a great guy...he and his croneys are loose units. I left coachella in their van and they were waving [a] HUGE dildo out the window at passerbys. Then we ended up in his jacuzzi somehow."
Courtesy of a leaked Japanese iTunes pre-order package as Consequence of Sound reports, the July release date of Currents is now common knowledge, as well as the 13-song tracklist. Tame Impala's tertiary LP Currents will be released on July 28 via Interscope.
