Drake has blessed his city of Toronto with great publicity, his OVO Fest and now a new nightclub. Keeping family first, he decided to name the venue SherClub after his maternal grandparents, Rueben and Evelyn Sher," BET reports.

"Rest in peace to my grandparents Rueben and Evelyn Sher," he wrote in a post on Instagram. "My grandmother was the first person to ever play catch with me and my grandfather was the biggest sports fan in the world. I opened this club in the memory of both of you. Thank you to the ACC, MLSE, and Ferris. #SherClub #6Side #FightNight."

According to an obituary, Evelyn Sher died on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 22) 2012. The OVO boss has been vocal about his closeness to his grandmother, and she is mentioned in a number of his projects including his song "The Resistance" and his unreleased track "The Winner," in which he raps, "Yeah, and in the name of Evelyn Sher / I'll forever forgive anybody that never was there / For me, no other woman could ever compare / My angel, I hope heaven's prepared for whenever you there."

She also appears at the end of his 2011 track "Look What I've Done" saying to her grandson, "All I can say Aubrey is, I remember the good times we had together and the times I used to look after you and I still have wonderful feelings about that. So God bless you, and I hope I'll see you."

Drake has been pretty busy over the last year, dropping his surprise mixtape If Your Reading This It's Too Late, working on his upcoming album Views From The 6, and headlining Coachella, where he infamously made out with Madonna, who just today admitted that she regrets her decision to lock lips.
