When you think of two rock bands who seemingly have little in common musically, Imagine Dragons and REO Speedwagon seem like a fair pair of opposites. But, earlier this week (May 4), the groups joined forces on Jimmy Kimmel Live's "Mashup Mondays" to form REO SpeedDragons and perform "Roll with the Changes." And, shockingly, it worked.

The performance has finally arrived online, allowing fans of the classic and modern rock acts who may have missed the late night talk show to view the performance.

REO Speedwagon frontman Kevin Cronin took to the mic for the first verse while Imagine Dragons' Dan Reynolds took the second. Reynolds' turn at the mic showed a side of him fans don't hear very often, as he relaxed his vocal and rolled with the punches (or the changes, if you will).

Despite the packed stage, "Roll with the Changes" largely sounded close to REO Speedwagon's original. But, the addition of Imagine Dragons was not without a large presence. As the "I Bet My Life" rockers are wont to do, they added layers upon layers of percussion, making the classic rock track sound more bombastic and full than ever before. And the jam session at the very end of the performance was filled with kettle drums and lots of noice.

REO SpeedDragons is just the latest pair of unlikely musical duos to grace the stage on Kimmel. Other bands to have performed during "Mashup Mondays" include Morris Day and the Haim (Morris Day and the Time with HAIM), Wee-Z Top (Weezer and ZZ-Top) and Aloe Blaccstreet (Aloe Blacc with Blackstreet).
