When you think of collaborations that are set to appear on Jason Derulo's new album Everything Is 4, Jennifer Lopez makes sense. Meghan Trainor makes sense. Even R&B legend Stevie Wonder is a likely person to appear on this Talk Dirty follow-up. Unexpected? Keith Urban. But, the country singer appears on the tracklist (alongside Wonder), and today that song "Broke" has officially arrived.

The way that "Broke" works is by keeping the featured artists into the instrumental arena, with Derulo taking sole vocal duties, except for some glorious riffing from Wonder near the end of the track.

Despite the lack of guest vocals, the distinctive flavors of Urban and Wonder are there. A banjo and heavy handed acoustic guitar give "Broke" a country flair that would make this song a welcome track to the likes of Florida Georgia Line or even that country outlaw Eric Church. Hand claps and a call and response verse near the end of this song add to the down home element. Wonder comes via the harmonica, and he kills it (of course) with an extended solo at the back end of the track.

Sometimes throwing everything against the wall and seeing what sticks works. Sometimes it's been unsuccessful for Derulo. However, on "Broke" blending together soul, R&B and country works out well.

"Broke" is the latest track to be unveiled from Derulo's new album Everything Is 4, which is due for a June 2 release. It follows the release of "Want to Want Me," "Get Ugly" and "Cheyenne."
